Difference between Nebula and Solar Nebula
Key Difference: Nebula is a cloud in deep space consisting of gas or dirt/dust (e.g. cloud formed after a star explodes). Solar Nebula is a cloud of gas and dust that began to collapse about 5 billion years ago to form the solar system.

Nebula and the solar nebula is one and the same thing. However, the main difference between both the terms is that solar nebula is the nebula that has formed our solar system, on the other hand, general dust and gas clouds are called nebula.
A nebula is a cloud in deep space consisting of gas or dirt/dust. The word Nebula has been derived from the Latin word, meaning “cloud”. Nebula is called nebulae in the plural. Dust and gas clouds are called nebula. In the earlier time, galaxies were also called nebula by astronomers because of their fuzzy appearance. However, nowadays the word nebula is used for extended objects consisting mostly of gas and dust. It comes in many shapes and sizes and forms in many different ways. The “Pillars of Creation” are the most famous images of NASA’s. Nebula comes in many shapes and sizes and forms in many different ways.

The concept of the solar nebula is also known as the nebular hypothesis. Solar nebula is the gaseous cloud which originated the solar system, and the Sun and the planets were formed by contraction. The giant molecular cloud is known as the solar nebula. There was one event like a supernova explosion that caused the solar nebula to collapse, creating regions of higher density. When it happened it took over gravity in the dense regions, pulling material inward into dense pockets where stars would ultimately form.
