Smartphones have opened up a whole range of opportunities for mobile and telecommunication companies. Smartphones have made it easier for users to do absolutely everything on the tiny computers that they can carry around in their pockets. These phones have made it easier for them to call, message, check e-mail, conduct business, edit photos, keep up with social networking and many other things on the go. Long gone are the days when people would have to wait to check e-mails when they got to the office or home.

Initially, smartphones were quite expensive because of the cost of advanced technology that was being used to build these phones. However, these days more companies are priding themselves offering high tech smartphones for a cheaper price, specially to developing countries that make up their biggest market. India is one of many small countries that have a huge market potential of cheaper smartphones. Many international companies such as Samsung and Sony have been constantly launching cheaper smartphones for the masses. Recently, many Indian mobile companies are also seeing a trend of creating smartphones for the market. Micromax and Karbonn are two Indian companies that are gaining recognition as smartphone manufacturers.
