Difference between Hug and Cuddle
Key Difference: Hug is an act that consists of wrapping the hands around another person's neck, waist or back. Cuddling is an act performed between two intimate people that consists of many postures.
Hug and cuddle, both are used to show love, affection, care, etc. They are non-verbal communications which go on between two or more people only when they know each other.
A hug is a way of showing care and love to someone. It is performed to any known person and is generally accepted by everyone. A hug also conveys the feeling of 
sympathy and empathy. It is a common act that is performed by parents, friends, mates, children, etc. It is a tight and close embrace to share happiness, sadness, love, etc. with others.
Cuddling is an act that is performed between two intimate people. It includes hugging, kissing, caressing, etc. It includes actions like touching the body in an intimate manner, playing with the hair, softly running the fingers over partner's hands, face and many more. Any action that makes someone feel intimate is known as cuddling. A lingering hug can also be said to cuddle someone. Cuddling is an act that is usually performed among partners. It is mainly used to show love and affection to the other person. Attraction and chemistry form the bond that allows people to mate. Without this romantic desire for another individual, a relationship is nothing more than lust or infatuation.
