Difference between Reckless and Impulsive

Key Difference: Reckless and Impulsive are two terms that are used to denote awry or inaccurate condition. Reckless is a person who is very careless; acting or a task done without any thought of the consequences. Whereas, impulsive is a person who likely acts or does an activity without carefully thinking about it.

‘Reckless’ and ‘Impulsive’ are two terms that are used to denote awry or inaccurate condition. They are one who put themselves in or create situations without a second thought for consequences. 

Reckless are those who just ‘do that’ without thinking about the after effect. It is not necessary that it would be a dreadful or a superior thing; it can be anything which can affect their life.

Let us look at some examples of Reckless-

  • What a reckless driver you were!
  • Don’t be reckless with other people’s transports.
  • I can’t train her; she’s so reckless you see!
  • Reckless hazard, authority said.
  • Reckless in the intense.

On the other hand, ‘Impulsive’ are those who tend to make such mistakes which can create problems for them. They may not realize while making such an action but it is not necessary that it may affect them. They may buy a piece of candy even though they are on a diet. They may impulsively go to the mall without their parent's concern or wherever else they wish. This stupidity can create problems for such people.

Now, let us look at some examples of Impulsive-

  • This was an impulsive action.
  • Impulsive action cost him dearly.
  • Impulsive nature may miss a key element.
  • You are very impulsive – everyday is an unexpected and a new adventure.

‘Reckless’ and ‘Impulsive’, both create problems in one’s life, either intentionally or accidentally.
