Difference between Acrylic, Silk wrap, and Gel nails
Key difference: Acrylic, Silk wrap, and Gel nails are types of artificial nails which are used to add fashion to fingers. They are techniques which are used by a beautician to decorate the hands.
include("ad4th.php"); ?>Acrylic nails are artificial nails, which are prepared with the chemical composition of acrylic nail powder. Acrylic nail powder is made up of polyethylmethylmethacrylate (PMMA), which is a composition of two different monomers, ethyl methacrylate (EMA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA). It usually contains benozophenone-1 and also includes Benzoyl peroxide.
These are fake nails, which are lengthy and long lasting type of nails. These are mixed with liquid chemicals, which makes them hard in nature. They are generally affordable types of nails. They are preferred commonly, to decorate and design the nails. They also provide temporary protection to the nails and improve the appearance of the nails.
Silk wrap types of nails are one of the artificial nails. They are made up of synthetic nail reinforcement, that is made from pieces of silk material. The wraps are usually made up of Silk, Lenin and Fiberglass.

These nails are delicate and thin in appearance and provide flexibility to nails. They are most often used for damaged and weak nails and they act as braces on the natural nails. They cure them and provide a supporting cover. They are removed with a special technique, that is by placing the hands in a plastic bag with cotton balls or pads which contains a small amount of acetone, after which the nails are rubbed with a generous amount of cuticle oil, and then the silk wrap nails are gently pulled off when the glue breaks down.
Gel nails are an advanced type of delicate artificial nails. They use special techniques of UV light along with gel. They are similar to that of the acrylic nails, but maintain the natural nails.
They look like a thick layer of lacquer on the nails and gives a shiny look to the nails. They are easily breakable if not applied properly. These are prepared by applying acrylic powder followed by the gel. These nails are then treated under UV lights. They are especially applied by the technicians who actually know the gel nails technique; hence they are the most expensive of all.
