Difference between Queer and Transgender

Key Difference: Queer is a slang term used for people identifing as LGBT and other sexual minorities. Transgender is the state in which a person’s gender identity does not match with his/her physical sex.

Queer Queer is a slang term used for sexual and gender minorities (LGBT). Many LGBT groups have objected about the term. It includes other sexual orientations like pansexual, pomosexual, intersexual, genderqueer, asexual and autosexual. Many LGBT groups have objected about the term as they feel disrespected and it makes them aggressive.

Transgender people may identify as heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, or asexual. It does not imply to any specific form of sexual orientation. As per Wikipedia, transgender means:

"Of, relating to, or designating a person whose identity does not conform unambiguously to conventional notions of male or female gender roles, but combines or moves between these."
"People who were assigned a sex, usually at birth and based on their genitals, but who feel that this is a false or incomplete description of themselves."
"Non-identification with, or non-presentation as, the sex (and assumed gender) one was assigned at birth.”

Queer is a slang term that was introduced for discrimination of those communities. There is a lot of discrimination against these people as a group.	As gender is so outwardly visible; transgender people who are transitioning may be vulnerable to discrimination, and will have a strong need for the support of family and friends.
Sexual Relations	It depends upon the individual sexual orientation. For example, a bisexual will have sexual relationships with both males and females and a homosexual will have sexual relationships with a same-sex person.	There is no particular sexual or gender orientation, so sexual relations can be made with any person of their desire. Generally, sexual relations are carried out with the original gender of the person. Example, a transgender male gets transformed into a female by the way of surgery. Now, the person being a female will have sexual relations with a male.
Family	It also depends on the sexual orientations. If the couple is able to conceive through any method; natural or medical, their own family can be started.	Like the rest of the population, there is a range of sexual orientations within the transgender community; and conceiving depends on the sexual orientation of a couple that can be natural or medical.
Legalization	Legalization for all the LGBT communities and other sexual minorities is permitted in very few countries and regions.	Transformation of transgender people is legalized in many countries but still there are a number of countries that doesn’t allow transformation of genders.
