Key Difference: Lipstick and Lip Lacquer are two different cosmetic products that are worn on lips. The main difference between both the products is that lipstick contains wax with oils, antioxidants and emollients, whereas lip lacquer is a soft or liquid gel, which does not contains wax.

Lipstick and lip lacquer, both are applied on lips; however they give a different look as soon as they are worn. In order to differentiate between these two products, one has to know their ingredients, advantages, disadvantages, etc.

Lipstick is a crayon-like oil-based beauty product used for coloring the lips, usually in a tubular container. Whereas, lip lacquer is a glossy lip color, used with a built in lip brush. Lacquer basically means ‘polish’ that means it polishes your lips with different shades. Though, lipsticks are more long lasting, they are sure not easy to apply anytime, anywhere. In contrast, lip lacquers are less long lasting, but are fairly easy to apply. Women nowadays don’t have time to spend on themselves, thus they need a convenient and durable product which they can carry anywhere they want to.

Lipstick and lip lacquer are available in different shades and flavors. Though, lipsticks are long-lasting, lip lacquers require constant touch up. Lip stick is simply known as lip color, whereas lip lacquer is simply known as lip gloss. Nowadays, there are various different kinds of lip products that people get confused with, such as lip tint, lip stain, etc. Lip lacquer gives more of a shiny look as compared to lipstick. Lip lacquers may look good on initial application but need constant maintenance throughout the day. They're highly pigmented, opaque, smooth, creamy lip glosses.
